“If we can’t bring our authentic life to work, how can we bring our work to life?”
- Alexandra Vassilaros, Founder & Facilitator

Grief’s Impact on the Workplace

  • 1 in 4 employees are experiencing a loss at any given time, either personal or professional.

  • Nearly 40% of employees dealing with grief say their mental health declines, affecting their performance and engagement at work.

  • 85% of employees say that unresolved grief contributes to high levels of stress, which can impact workplace morale and overall health.

  • 60% of employees believe their workplace does not provide adequate support for those dealing with grief.

The Workshop

This practice enriches the workplace by addressing the universal human experiences of loss, grief, compounded stress and disconnection. Our workshop offers participants a much needed opportunity to make meaning from difficult experiences to encourage growth, compassion, and authenticity for themselves and each other.

From Loss to Found: Exploring Authenticity

A Grief Support Writing Workshop for the Workplace

If we can’t bring our authentic life to work, how can we bring our work to life?

This bespoke writing-for-healing workshop invites team members to step out of isolation and engage in “meaning-making,” a practice that fosters mindfulness and compassion both personally and professionally.

This workshop helps participants move from crisis to opportunity, from heartbroken to being heartbroken open, and from falling down to falling forward. It guides them in discovering the gifts their own language and stories can offer, revitalizing their innate capacity to grow through grief rather than just endure it.

Through expressive writing, deep listening, and shared experiences, participants unlock their capacity for presence and connection in a supportive, non-judgmental setting. No prior writing experience is required.

Value to Your Organization

This transformative space energizes emotional resilience and improves team dynamics. By moving from isolation to safe community, employees explore how they can use grief as a catalyst for growth, turning challenges into opportunities. This leads to a more compassionate, supportive work environment, and helps to revitalize productivity and morale during difficult times.

This Make Meaning Workshop not only aids in navigating loss, grief, and crisis but also contributes to a healthier workplace culture, where emotional well-being is prioritized, and resilience is fostered.

How it Works

In this safe group setting, participants explore the extraordinary details of their experiences on paper in a safe and boundaried process.

During the workshop we simply write, read and listen to one another. There is no criticism, interruption, or commentary from participants. Writing prompts are provided as creative catalysts to engage our inner voice and identify our innate capacity for curiosity, wisdom and resilience.

Our workshops are available in-person and virtually, providing flexibility to meet your team's needs, whether in-office or at a company retreat.

Language is our portal to meaning-making, connection, healing, learning, and self-awareness. Language shows us that naming an experience doesn’t give the experience more power, it gives us the power of understanding and meaning.
